Luca Brecel, who currently sits at number 10 in snooker rankings, defeated the Chinese debutant Si Jiahui in the semi finals of the World Snooker Championship.
Brecel seemed like he was out of the tournament as he was once nine frames behind the Chinese youngster who is known for his attacking game. But Brecel ended up producing the greatest comeback in the history of the tournament as he overturned the largest deficit of nine frames and secured a exceptional 17-15 victory. He made a comeback from 14-5.
He also defeated the defending & seven time world champion Ronnie O'Sullivan, who is also ranked number one, in the quarter finals of the event. The Belgian made a stunning comeback as he turned a 10-6 deficit to a 13-10 win, winning seven successive frames.
The defending champion praised the young Belgian and called him "The most talented player he has ever seen". Ronnie also wished him luck for remaining championship and he hoped that Luca wins the title.
Luca will face the English ranked no. 2 Mark Selby in the final of the championship. Selby has won the Championship for 23 times, which is the 9th most in the history of championship.
